What was the Boston Tea Party?

Boston Tea Party Ship & Museum

The Boston Tea Party Ship and Museum commemorates the December 16, 1773 rebellion in which the Sons of Liberty, fed up with the British's high taxation on tea coming into Boston, snuck onto trade ships in disguise and dumped hundreds of boxes of tea into the Boston Harbor. Although the Ship and Museum are currently closed for renovations, visitors will be able to return in the spring of 2007.
