Did you know that traditionally, New England did NOT celebrate Christmas? Early settlers were trying to get `back to the basics` as far as religion went. Christmas to them was pretty clearly a pagan-inspired holiday, with its mistletoe and parties and other traditions. It wasn`t until the middle 1800s that they began to give in to the allure.
